Assisted Reproductive Technology
Assisted Reproductive Technology
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) has been used in the United States since 1981 to help women become pregnant. ART is the term used to describe a range of advanced fertility treatments in which both egg and sperm are manipulated. The most widely used is in-vitro fertilization or IVF. ART may be recommended when other treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) have not been successful or when there is severe male factor infertility, severe endometriosis or tubal obstruction.
